You guys! This is by far one of my favorite products I'm sharing about. But if you don't mind Id like to give a little back ground about how I got involved with Sseko. About 8 years ago I attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta. My two best friends during that semester was my girl Jessica who I drug with me from Indiana and this guy we met named Patrick. Now if you knew Patrick, then your life was so enriched by his goofy smile, his love for everyone, and those Toms that he wore until the fronts had ripped off and his toes were hanging out. They were pretty much inseperable and I was forever third wheeling it. Unfortunately a little over a year later, Patrick went home to be with the Lord. His death was unexpected and shook the campus. He truly caused a revolution in so many hearts and lives. When his family came out for the service and to meet all of us at the bible college, I connected with his sister in law Eliza. We became friends on social media and have virtually share in the trials and joys of motherhood together.

Eliza reached out to me and shared the mission statement behind Sseko. Listen to this,

Sseko Designs provides employment to women in Uganda during the 9 month gap between high school and university where high potential young women are able to earn and save enough money to pay for college tuition. 50% of their salary each month goes into a savings account that is not accessible until tuition is due. This ensures that their income goes towards education. This also protects the women in our program from the social pressure they often feel from their families to give away the money the are earning which can perpetuate the cycle of poverty. At the end of each term, Sseko Designs grants university scholarships that match 100% of the savings each woman has made during her 9 month session with Sseko.

HOW FLIPPIN COOL!  Patrick and I had gone on a few mission trips together and we had actually talked about both of us wanting to go to Uganda. So in a way this kind of feels like he is apart of this. Leave it to Patrick to still be causing change and empowering people through his death. Cant wait to rock out to T-swift with you again man. <3

Back to the Product

Adaline's lace up sandals were a big hit and I still get messages about them. So if you're wanting to custom make your own babe sandals or just spoil your self then this is for you!.

I struggled long and hard on which design I wanted to bring to life. And i have to say these sandals are inspired by my girls. Eliza helped me immensely since we are on different sides of the country. Countless texts and face times to show me the swatches and what colors compliment each other.  * Side note, if you have a fellow in your area you can meet with them in person instead of FaceTime. So after about weeks of brain storming ideas and picking colors and platforms and designs i settled on these beauties. The top foot strap is a rose gold for my newest little rosy girl. And the pink base is a blush color for Adaline because 1. Its pink and she's everything I dreamed of for my first girl, and 2. because her love for life and people truly makes me blush. Cheesy? probably but i don't care.

Picking this design was so hard because there are sooooo many options. I went with the wedge because I'm 5'3 and can use the extra height.  But I'm definitely going to buy the original cross over sandals, and the travel bags, and the purses, and well everything.

As always these thoughts and words are my own, and I'm so grateful to stand behind such an amazing company and help support other women. All photos taken by Everglow Photo
